An intercomparison of wind characteristics over the North Sea and the Netherlands is made between the observations : control runs of the Canadian Climate Centre (CCC), second generation GCM and the ECHAM coupled ocean-atmosphere GCM, and the enhanced CO2 runs of these models.
The comparison of the control run and increased CO2 runs of the models shows only in a few cases a statistical significant change in the wind characteristics.
These differences are usually small compared to the differences between the control run and the observations.
