The KNMI has many streams of actual, basic data from national and international sources. These are used by the Institute to carry out the legally required, public duties. Amongst others, it includes observations on land, at sea and in the air, aero logical data, image data from weather radars and satellites and outcomes of atmospheric and ocean models.
In accordance with the Act on the KNMI, published in the 27 November 2001 Staatsblad issue 562, the KNMI can be requested to provide data for other applications in public and private sectors.
Delivery shall take place according to a License Agreement or any other contract with the KNMI. These are based on the Ministerial Regulation for the availability and price of KNMI data.
In the KNMI Catalog itself, you'll find explanations about the deliverable (national) KNMI data and international data, licensing, usage conditions and rates.
