Fifty cases of severe convective weather in the Netherlands have been analysed.
According to their circulation type they can be classified in five classes.
Accordingly five conceptual models of severe convective weather are presented including average circulation type, avarage value of surface potential wetbulb temperature and stability parameter, a synthetical illustration of its causes and conditions for its occurrence.
These conceptual models can be used as a basic for forecasting and also for understanding severe convective weather.
