Good quality and reliable observations are essential for operational meteorology. Nowcasting requires that observations are delivered in near real time or quicker. This paper shows the use of Near Real Time GPS IWV for operational Meteorology by discussing three cases and showing the quality of the network by comparing IWV from GPS and ECMWF for a one-year period.
